First, three things for you to do:

1. Ferment Change: We’re participating in an event hosted by the Spare Room Project on May 1. We’ll be doing a vegetable fermentation demo and there will be a great show (Land. Liberty. Sunshine. Stamina.) organized by the Greenhorns, as well as homemade beverages and snacks and the chance to donate a few dollars to City Slicker Farms. Yay!
Details:
When: Friday May 1, 7-10 pm (our demo will be from 8-9)
Where: 270 Anderson St. (a few steps from Cortland in Bernal Heights)
Donation welcome (for City Slickers) but not required.

2. Herb Fence, brought to you by Sorrel:
Stop by the chain link fence at Valencia and 23rd Street to find out about common medicinal plants and their uses. Herb plants will be up for viewing and fliers will also be available with instructions for making herbal remedies like medicinal teas, tinctures and salves. Go check it out now!

3. Another fermentation demo, brought to you by Yeast:
On April 26 I’ll be at Baker’s Alley, a monthly event hosted by SF Ecology Center, demonstrating how to ferment pretty much any vegetable. There will also be someone doing a home brewing demo, as well as community baking in the cob oven and knitting in the living room! The event goes all day from 10-4 and takes place at 1390 31st Avenue, between Irving and Judah, in San Francisco.  here’s a flier.

and one other items of news: We’re working on Issue #4 of our zine! We plan to have it ready by the end of May so stay tuned for updates– we’re going to have another release party, time and location tba.
